Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I hope all you mothers had a wonderful Dia de las Madres.
Mine was very special! As you may know, I got to Skype with my family last Sunday and they're all doing wonderful.
Especially the great Mama Carter. She's really animated and super ready to take on this chemo!
So these past two weeks have been a little rough here in Langue. We've been really working hard with our
investigators and helping them progress in the gospel. The faithful Alcides was the only one that went to church
yesterday. He's a great man. He has recently had stroke, and so he can't walk too well. But he walks over two miles
with his cane to the church! He is such a strong spirit. He has helped me look inside myself and really see what's
most important.
We've also been teaching Sara. She's the joven of 16 years. We've been trying to get permiso from her mom, but
she almost never passes in the house! We finally found her and talked to her. She had a lot of questions about our
beliefs, but we got to answer all of them. She's still not sure about the baptism, but we told her to pray about it and
invited her to the baptism. We just need to work harder with Sara because she's become a little disanimated.
We've read a little of the Book of Mormon with her and she asks a lot of questions, which is great!
We also found this lady while contacting called Lesli. She let us in without much of a fight. We started to explain our
message and she asked us to teach her everything! Haha so we taught her about The Restoration of the Gospel of
Jesus Christ and she accepted it all. We taught her about the Book of Mormon another time last week and asked her
to pray to know if it is true. She said, "Why? I already know that it's true." We then challenged her to be baptized and
she accepted! She will be baptized the 6th of Junio (My companion's birthday.)
Everything here in Langue is just fine. I count my many blessing every single day. My companion and I had the
opportunity to give talks in church yesterday as well. It was just us two, so we each had to talk for 25 minutes.
That turned out to be so much easier than I expected! I also got to direct the Sacrament Meeting as all. That was a
really cool experience. Even though there was 16 people at church, we really felt the spirit of the Lord.
I love you all so much and am very thankful for all you prayers.
Love, Elder Carter
